Sports & Brand Video Production
for Ambitious Outdoor Brands
From 30-second social content to long-form brand films. Commercial video production for sports brands and active lifestyle businesses. One creative director. Start to finish. Based in Milton Keynes, working nationwide.
Video that performs. Not just video that exists.
A lot of brand video looks good on a showreel and does nothing in the wild. The product exists. The colours are right. The music is decent. And the watch-through rate tells you everything you need to know about whether it actually worked. I approach video production the same way I approach photography: starting with where the content ends up, what it needs to make the audience feel, and what action it's designed to drive.
Concept, direction, camera, edit. One creative across the whole thing. No briefing a director and then crossing your fingers that the editor understood the reference. When it's all the same person, the idea stays intact from the treatment document to the final cut. Commercial video for sports brands and outdoor brands working in the UK.
Every format. Every platform.
One person accountable.
Long-form brand storytelling that gives an audience a reason to care. Founders, product philosophy, behind-the-craft. The kind of content that builds trust rather than just impressions.
Vertical and horizontal formats, platform-specific edits, cut-down versions from a single shoot. Content built for the feed — not repurposed from something that wasn't.
Hero launch content designed to lead a campaign — whether that's a 60-second film for the website or a teaser cut for pre-launch social. Shot and edited with the campaign architecture in mind.
Same-day or next-day social cuts, extended highlights, full event films. I've covered sportives, triathlons and brand activation days. Fast turnaround. One creative. On top of the brief.
Scripted or conversational. In studio or on location. Athlete stories, founder profiles, customer testimonials. Edited for the platform — not just recorded and handed over as raw footage.
Full offline edit, colour grade and audio mix. Delivered in the formats you need for the platforms you're on. No raw files with a note saying "just add music." Finished work, ready to use.
Five phases of every great brand story
Every piece of video content we produce follows a proven storytelling architecture. Not because storytelling is a buzzword — because it's the difference between content that earns attention and content that disappears into the feed.
Brief to final file. Clear at every stage.
We start with a call. Objectives, audience, platforms, tone, existing brand language. I come back with a creative treatment — not a boilerplate treatment-shaped document.
Shot lists, location recce, call sheets, talent briefing. The work that makes the shooting day run clean — all handled before we're on location.
One creative director behind the camera. Fast, responsive, and able to adapt when conditions change — which they always do. No junior operating your shoot.
Offline assembly, grade, audio mix and title work. One round of structured feedback, then final delivery in agreed formats. Turnaround confirmed before we shoot.
What most people ask before they brief in
Brand films, social content, product launches, event coverage, athlete profiles, founder interviews and paid ad creative. The common ground across all of it is commercial intent — everything is made to do a specific job for the brand, whether that's building awareness, driving traffic, or converting a warm audience. If you have a brief that doesn't fit neatly into a category, bring it to me and we'll work out whether it makes sense together.
Scope varies significantly — a single-location social cut costs less than a multi-day brand film with locations, talent, and five platform deliverables. I work from a proposal built around your specific brief, not a day rate with a long list of exclusions. That way you know exactly what the final number includes. Send me the brief and I'll come back with a clear, fixed-fee proposal within 48 hours.
Yes — and in most cases that's where the value is. A good shoot starts with a clear concept, and a clear concept starts with understanding the brief deeply enough to make creative decisions. I handle concept, scripting, storyboarding, direction, camera operation and edit. If you have an existing creative framework I'll work within it. If you don't, I'll build one with you.
Website hero video, Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, paid social (Meta, Google), trade show and event screens. Each platform has different aspect ratios, file specs and audience behaviour patterns — all of which affect how the content should be shot and cut. When we scope a project, we agree the platform list upfront, so every deliverable is built for where it's actually going.
Timeline depends on scope. A social content shoot with same-week turnaround is a different project to a brand film with a month of pre-production. Turnaround is agreed as part of the proposal — I plan edit timelines around your campaign go-live dates. Tell me about any fixed deadlines at the start and they'll be built into the scope.
I do. At Fairford Studios there is one creative — that's not a tagline, it's the whole model. The person you brief is the person behind the camera and in the edit suite. This matters because the brief lives in the creative decisions being made on location, not just in a document. When the director and the operator are the same person, nothing gets lost in translation between what was intended and what ends up in the can.
Yes. Fairford Studios is based in Milton Keynes but operates nationwide across the UK. Travel costs are agreed upfront and included in the project scope. For the right brief I'm open to international work too — if the project makes sense, geography doesn't need to be the deciding factor.
Have a brief ready to go?
Tell me the project. I'll come back with a clear creative treatment and a fixed-fee proposal. No inflated day rates. No junior handoffs. One creative, accountable from first call to final file.
