Paris
1 km to go
The last day of 21|12. After filming James Golding ride the first 17 stages of the route, we finished where the Tour does: on the roadside in Paris, at the flamme rouge.
Twelve days on the road. One kilometre left.
21|12 ended where the Tour does.
For twelve days we followed James Golding along the route of the 2026 Tour de France, from Barcelona to the Alps, cutting the films in the camper as we went, for Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity.
The last day of the trip was the race's last day too. We stood at the flamme rouge, the red triangle that tells the peloton there is one kilometre to go, with the phones up, the Norwegian flags out and Place de la Concorde just ahead.
This time the camera was on the other side of the barrier. The film and photographs here are the race as the crowd saw it: fast, loud and gone in seconds. The GOSH fund is still open.
Seventeen ridden. Then Paris.
From the flamme rouge to the line.
The last kilometre of the 2026 Tour
James rode the first seventeen stages of the route in twelve days, Barcelona to the Alps, with no rest days. Three stages are still out there.
Then Paris. Stage 21, the last kilometre, watched from behind the barriers with everyone else.
Paris, from the barrier.
